The treatment of municipal waste water using STP involve the process of removing contaminants from municipal wastewater, containing mainly household sewage plus some industrial wastewater. Physical, chemical and biological processes are used to remove contaminants and produce treated wastewater (or treated effluent) that is safe enough for release into the environment. A by-product of sewage treatment is a semi-solid waste or slurry, called sewage sludge. The sludge has to undergo further treatment before being suitable for disposal or application to land. STP is also known as Waste Water Treatment Plants. To make wastewater acceptable for reuse or for returning to the environment, the concentration of contaminants must be reduced to a safe level, usually a standard set by the CPCB, New Delhi. At BCPL, our environment engineers, are efficient to take care of design, civil structure, erection, commissioning, etc. The treated water can be recycled/reused to irrigation /dust suppression and many more as per applicability of discharge norms.
