Mangrove is a tree or shrub which grows in tidal, chiefly tropical, coastal swamps, having numerous tangled roots that grow above ground and form dense thickets. Mangrove management plan is used to sustain the supply of mangrove goods and services for local and national development. The mangrove management plan prepared by Akone Services are in compliance with Forest Act, which provides for preparation of management plans for all gazetted forests. The plan provides a road map towards sustainable management of mangrove ecosystems. It takes cognizance of other existing policies relating to land and land use, agriculture, fisheries, energy, environment, mining, wildlife and water. Mangrove management plan is a concise plan setting out all the requirements, controls and activities to be applied over space and time in a logical sequence to arrive at the desired objectives.
